There are several treatment options available for temperomandibular (TMJ) pain in children:

– TMJ pain tends to be caused by teeth grinding/clenching, facial injury, chewing on hard objects such as pens, or a misaligned jaw.

– Children with TMJ pain may complain of discomfort when they eat, talk or yawn.

– Your dentist will be able to identify the cause of your child’s TMJ pain and recommend the most suitable treatment to ease the pain, including custom mouth-guards and hot/cold compresses.

In rare cases, surgery may be needed to correct the jaw’s position and alleviate pain.”
