When baby teeth become loose, it is in preparation for the permanent set to come in. This is the natural order of things but sometimes parents are tempted to give nature a helping hand.

Wiggling the tooth, or even pulling it, to speed up the process is not recommended by any dentist and with good reason. Although it may seem helpful, loosening or extracting a child’s tooth can cause:

– Undue suffering

– Bleeding gums

– Possible infections
